Cinnabar mines were used to "capture" mercury from the stones at the site..
The ride, today, was really a long one, (over 50 miles) The riders were Carol Wiesner, Bill Olesen, and me. The picture of our prescence at the site isn't out yet, so I have substituted the picture of Dale & Bill instead. (That's roughly what the terrain looks like though.)
